About Me
Hi, I’m Allyncia Williams, a passionate Learning Experience Design Leader with over 20 years of experience in corporate training, instructional design, and creating engaging learning media. I’m thrilled to be speaking at DevLearn 2024, where I’ll be discussing how to improve the virtual learning experience using AI-powered tools. In this session, I’ll share how I’ve transformed our 90-day virtual learning program for new hires at LA Care Health Plan. By applying concepts from video game narrative design, microlearning, and adult learning principles, I’ve shifted our training from a traditional lecture series to a fully engaging series of learning activities designed for the remote workforce. This initiative is designed to boost engagement and retention, creating a dynamic and interactive learning experience for new employees.

Currently, I lead the Learning Experience Design team at LA Care Health Plan, where I’ve had the opportunity to innovate and reshape learning programs. My expertise spans instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, Agile), project management, and the development of high-quality multimedia learning experiences using tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline 360, and Adobe Captivate.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a diverse range of professionals, from Fortune 500 companies to small private firms, both in the U.S. and internationally. My career began in Tokyo, Japan, where I designed dynamic business skills and cross-cultural training programs for companies like Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Johnson & Johnson. I’ve studied, taught, and traveled to more than 20 countries, and even performed as a professional singer overseas!

Since returning to the U.S., I’ve consulted in HR and training roles for companies like Hewitt Associates, LaSalle Bank, and Unicare. In 2006, I helped set up and run Training Connection, a software and business skills training firm in downtown Chicago. In 2009, I opened and ran their newest office in Los Angeles.

At LA Care Health Plan, I serve as a Learning Experience Instructional Design Architect, developing self-paced, instructor-led, virtual, and blended programs. I also coach executive professionals on delivering custom, interactive live presentations. My technical expertise includes editing sound, images, graphics, video, and creating eLearning authoring, animation, and interactive learning tools for software and business skills training. I manage multiple projects and collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives using best practices from ADDIE and Agile instructional design principles.

I’ve built computer-based training modules using tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Camtasia, and various web-based animation and gamification platforms. Additionally, I have extensive experience with proprietary applications and the SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS).
