Employee Appreciation Awards

This is the first in a series of clips drawing great examples of inter-office faux pas featuring those demonstrated in NBC’s The Office.

First, let Michael Scott explain it:

Alright, I think Scott is a little dramatic about his point here but it made me laugh. What about praise at The Office?

I have often heard a person lament about how some work can be a  “thankless job.” Doesn’t that really mean that the person deals with a lot of rude customers or inconsiderate colleagues? Where are our manners? Are we keeping people guessing whether they have done the right thing because we just assume that the best will keep resulting from presumption?

What about your company’s Dundee Awards? Do they bug you? Do you have one? Either way, if we can just remember to point out things we like about our colleagues as they happen- even for the small things, we will find that ‘Employee Appreciation Awards’ happen everyday and they count!

Happy New Year and Happy Complimenting the best in people you work with! You know you love it!

  1. / Your epodise reviews have been must read’ for me this season! Think I’ll be missing these as much as the show itself! I agree that the post-Steve epodises have been pretty amazing. For a show which just lost the central character, it doesn’t actually seem too lacking at all. To be honest, I thought Gabe should have been the obvious choice for the Scranton Regional Manager’ position I mean wasn’t he technically in charge of everyone anyway? That would have been a seamless option, and it wouldn’t necessarily mean the show would be based around him. Can’t wait for you to discuss the finale on the next podcast!
